Job DescriptionJob DescriptionJob SummaryAssistant Manager (AM), Travel Plazas is responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers with an entrepreneurial, sales-driven spirit for the company.
A key priority includes assisting the GM in the daily operation of the store.
Under the direction of the GM, this position will also be responsible for maintaining inventories and store appearance and completing daily paperwork.
The position also requires availability to work nights, weekends, holidays and cover shifts in case of call-offs or shortage of help.
Candidates should be able to inspire and encourage teamwork towards successfully achieving sales goals, uphold daily operations and most importantly, create a fun and energized environment!Customer ServiceAssures a pleasant shopping experience for all customers, responds to customer complaints and solicits customer feedback and input.
Regularly coaches team to provide and maintain a consistent high level of customer service.
Clean, Safe and SecureMaintains a facility that is consistently inspection ready in all areas including food prep, restrooms, forecourt, gondolas and all other guest contact areas.
Complies and maintains all Department of Health, internal company and brand inspection standards.
Follows daily Liberty Safety Inspection/Emergency Response Protocols to quickly recognize and remove potential safety hazards to customers, employees and vendors while operating in a manner that does not put company property and assets at risk.
Hiring and TrainingAssists the GM in recruiting new team members to meet the needs of the business and maintain a well staffed store.
Ensures store has a well trained staff to meet and exceed operational standards.
Inventory controlUnder the direction of GM, AM will also be responsible for maintaining inventories and store appearance.
Treat inventory as if it is cash.
All inventoryvariances are researched, discussed and reported to the GM as early as possible.
Makes sure all storage areas are clean and products are well organized and labeled with the date received.
Sales generationSupports the GM to meet monthly, quarterly and annual sales goals.
This involves executing all Liberty/brand specific marketing activities to include:
POP and suggestive selling promotional items etc.
Labor controlsAssists the GM with schedules to assure all shifts are covered and properly staffed.
Coordinates daily assignments and activities of associates based on sales.
Cash ControlsAssures proper execution of all cash management activities, including accurate cash handling, credit card and trendar processing and complete daily paperwork.
Any unexplained cash shortage over $10 must be reported to GM or District Manager, Travel Plazas.
Operations:
Strive to be the best in the Brand! o Keep store in compliance with all Brand standards.
o Maintain and ensure a safe, clean work environment.
o Pass all internal operations training and paperwork audit.
o Ensure all brand sponsored mystery shops are at or above brand standards.
o Provide superior customer service to all of our guests.
